OCIE is an OPEN LOOK based application that takes report information frommainframes, minicomputers, and PCs for temporary (magnetic disk) orarchival (optical disk and juke box) storage. It supports viewing fromSun(TM), X Window System terminals, PCs (direct or on Novell), and otherterminals (e.g., ASCII, 3270 and 5250s). OCIE can use multiple serversand magnetic storage to distribute both data and workload, therebyproviding better response time than can be achieved with mainframe or PCsolutions. OCIE works in existing environments to offloads the mainframefor report delivery, while saving money every month by eliminating paperand fiche. since OCIE makes report information available online, customerservice is improved by having quicker access time to information.
